- My first NS16550A UART went into a 4.77 MHz XT, circa 1987 or 1988, in order
- to allow me to run the modem at 19200 bps while running DoubleDOS on the XT.
- I believe that the 80386 existed at the time (it's marked "Preliminary
- Information" in the 1987 Intel Microprocessor and Peripheral handbook").
